Leroy Smith was relaxing at home when all of a sudden, his wife Angela started being wracked with powerful contractions. The pregnant woman was going to give birth, and there wasn’t going to be time enough for the midwife to arrive. So he did what any child of the Internet age would do: he picked up his Blackberry and Googled “how to deliver a baby at home.” Not long after, he used a wikiHow article to safely delivery his child. Presumably, he needed no special Internet instructions on how to welcome his daughter, Mahalia Merita Angela Smith, into the world.
You know, with modern medicine, people tend to forget that babies have been birthed in homes and fields for millions of years. It’s generally an automatic process, too. All doctors and drugs do is make it more comfortable and significantly safer, but they’re not necessary in a normal delivery process. Fortunately for the Smiths, Angela’s pregnancy was normal and all involved are healthy and have a new respect for the power of Google.
