Lamya Cammon, like most first grade students, can get a little annoying. After all, she’s a little kid, and while they have a concept of the word no, they don’t really get it, nor do they really pay attention when you repeat to them, over and over, to stop being obnoxious. That’s why when Lamya wouldn’t stop playing with the beads in a particular strand of braided hair, the teacher called her to the desk and cut one of her braids off.
The teacher earned a little peace and quiet, but she also picked up a $175 fine for disorderly conduct and a very irate mother has been added to the weight on her back. Quoth the offended mom: “Why would we want someone like that teaching our kids? We trust our kids once they go to school to be safe.” Or, you know, you could give your child a non-obnoxious hairstyle?
Of course, the child is safe. I mean, it’s not like the teacher shaved Lamya’s head; she just chopped off the end of a braid. I remember braids like those, and the click-clack of beads together is quote possibly the most annoying thing I’ve ever heard, aside from a tongue stud clicking on teeth. Given that little kids never listen, and the teacher has already apologized, Lamya needs to come back to school with a noise-free hairstyle and all of this should be forgotten.
