I’ve known a few smokers in my time.  For example, my grandmother.  She continued to smoke even as her emphysema got worse and worse.  She’d smoke with her oxygen tube in, and did for as long as she could manage.  It’s tough to quit, and if you’re a smoker, you’re not going to let a little thing like winter stand keep you from sucking ash.  That’s why clothing designer Tobias Wong designed the Smoking Mittens; they’re mittens with an opening for a cigarette inside them for easier winter smoking.

I don’t encourage anyone to smoke.  If you’re smoking now, you should quit while you still can, if only to save your money for more important things.   Still, I’m really surprised that these gloves haven’t already been invented well before now.  I mean, you’d think that smokers would be all over these; I guess they just sacrifice the warmth of mittens for the dignity of gloves during their smoke breaks.
