Le Trung has spent his entire life in the quest for the perfect robot. He built his first bot at age four, and since then has poured thousands of dollars into the development of Aiko, the incredibly life-like female robot he brought home for family holidays. That’s right, he brought a robot home to meet his parents. Aiko can speak 13,000 sentences in two languages, responds to touch, and will even try to slap you if you get a little too grabby with her. The only thing she can’t do is walk, but Le’s goal is to make her mobile for the New Year.
It’s a pretty creepy fembot, but it’s not as creepy as some robots since her face is a little too much like a statue and less like a human. Trung says his goal is to make helper robots for the elderly, but I’m not really buying that his robot girlfriend is the first prototype of that, are you?
