There’s just something about Switzerland that makes people want to speed through it as fast as possible. First, you had the guy who racked up 15 traffic violations in 11 minutes, and now you’ve got the guy who tore through the Canton of St. Gallen at 137 miles an hour. The man’s love of speed earned him a record $290,000 fine! Let’s not shed any tears for him, though; it turns out he’s worth 23.3 million Swiss francs and his Ferrari Testarossa was one of five cars he keeps in his garage at his villa.
He earned that fine, but if it was me? I’d be getting those kind of fines all the time. It’s not that I’m a particularly reckless driver, but if I’m out in the middle of nowhere and I’ve got one of the fastest cars ever made, you KNOW I’m going to push it to see how fast I can get it rolling during straight line drives. Put me out in Kansas with that bad boy and there’s no way anybody could catch up to me.
