The last holdout console has now fallen in line. Joining Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the Nintendo Wii console is now capable of streaming video on demand from Netflix, just like its more expensive competition! For those of us on a budget, but who want to enjoy Netflix On Demand from the comfort of our living room (like myself), this is the perfect solution. I get to use my Netflix and I don’t have to hook up an expensive new box to my already crowded home entertainment center or wait for DVDs to come in the mail!
To get in on the action, head over to Netflix and reserve your Wii Instant Streaming Disc. The service is said to be launching sometime this spring, though nobody is forthcoming with a date yet. Still, the important thing is that the rumor is becoming a reality. It’s not the same instant streaming as the Xbox gets, but it’s better than nothing. The PS3 disc solution is better than no video at all.
