It’s a great billboard. The advertisement put up by BMW of Bridgeport, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, has attracted a lot of attention. The dealership has been prompted to launch an overnight test drive offer where potential buyers can take home a Beamer for the night and try it out. Unfortunately for local police, the billboard features a life-sized person and oversized teddy bear on top, which means that panicking motorists are calling cops in an attempt to save the person’s life.
The billboard stands over well-traveled Interstate 95, and has been up there for a few months now. The car company is pleased with the billboard. Meanwhile, dispatchers at the barracks of State Police Troop G are busy reassuring worried drivers that it’s a mannequin on a billboard that isn’t in any danger of falling off.
