Someone alert Nicolas Cage! Before his bankruptcy, his biggest purchases were a pair of castles in England and Germany. However, he’s had to sell them off to pay his other bills, so now he’s got no castles, and there’s just something not right about that. So Nic, if you read this, I suggest you pick up Almasy Castle, in Gyula, Hungary. It’s for sale; the house can be yours for less than a penny! And hey, since it was the castle once owned by the family of Count Laszlo Almasy from The English Patient, it’s got a Hollywood connection already!
Of course, there is a catch. In order to take ownership of the castle, you have to be willing to put up the funds for £1 million pounds worth of renovation to get the castle up to its proper grandness. I’m not sure Nic has that kind of money at the moment, but if he does, that castle is a bargain!
