Kelly Kulick is one of the best bowlers in the world, and gender has nothing to do with her classification. Male, female, or space alien, Kelly can roll with the best of them and she’s proven that time and time again. When the Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) disbanded in 2003, she took her PWBA tour titles and went to the PBA tour, finishing in the money in 12 of 14 PBA Eastern Region events. In 2006, she was the first woman to win a PBA Tour exemption and with her victory in the 45th Tournament of Champions, she’s the first woman in history to win a PBA Tour event.
Now, she’s got a dilemma. Does she continue on in the Women’s PBA, or does she roll with the men? Or does she split her time between the two events, picking between tours? Nobody really knows, because this has never happened before. She can bowl anywhere she wants. That’s a great problem to have! “Do I go here and win money and trophies, or go here and win money and trophies, or do I just beat everyone of both genders?”
