How much can you get for the most precious gift of all?  About $45,000.  That’s the going rate for a 19-year-old girl’s virginity in New Zealand, after an anonymous auctioneer known only as Unigirl sold her virginity online via the online auction house.  The money will be going to fund her college education, so she says.  New Zealand is the new land of opportunity, isn’t it?

New Zealand, as you know, has some of the world’s most liberal prostitution laws, which explains the proliferation of Olympic brothels in that country.  While it is kind of sad that Unigirl had to resort to this sort of stunt to fund her education, at least the money’s going for a good cause.  I imagine scholarships might have been a less humiliating option, but provided no laws are getting broken, it’s just another business transaction.
