Those first responders are cool under fire, aren’t they? I mean, they can handle any sort of call, from a robbery to a homicide, without skipping a beat. We’ve seen a 911 dispatcher fight a fire at his own house, but there’s never been anything quite as amazing as the story of Chris Scott. This 911 dispatcher took the scariest call imaginable, a 911 call from his own wife Janna about his choking infant son, Nathan. Miraculously, Chris Scott saved his own son’s life by talking his wife through the process of clearing the child’s airways.
Did I mention that Chris is still a trainee dispatcher? Yeah, he’s not even good at the job yet and he’s already saving lives and staying cool under pressure; imagine what this guy is capable of after he gets off probation! I’d imagine his time spent in Iraq as a Marine reservist helped hone his ability to stay calm and rational under pressure, but this is just incredible.
Here’s a video and recording of the call, via the AP.
