Faith and begorah! The luck of the Irish wasn’t with one unlucky bank robber on St. Patrick’s Day. Police say two men, including a man dressed as a leprechaun, held up a Fifth Third Bank branch on Wednesday. After the robbery, the unnamed men hopped into his car and sped away, leading police on a chase through a local subdivision. After bailing out of the car, the two were killed during a lengthy shoot-out with police. No police officers were seriously injured; one cop car was disabled during the pursuit.
This has to have been inspired by the Nashville bank robbery perpetrated by a guy dressed in a Santa Claus outfit back in December. Seems like costumed bank robbery is becoming a trend. What’s next, real life Point Break bank robbers in President masks knocking over banks on President’s Day? The Easter Bunny Strangler? Maybe guys in tree outfits can rob a farmer’s market on Arbor Day!
