Ricky Martin, the singer who rocketed to fame as part of the Latin Explosion in the late 90’s, has finally admitted to the world what we’ve all basically known all along.  As it turns out, he’s gay.  Now he’s basically admitted this via not denying this a couple of times, moreso back when he was at the height of his fame, but now he’s officially come out of the closet via Twitter.  Good for him.

I’m sure it’s very hard for someone to admit this in public, and even harder for someone who’d built a career on being a heterosexual sex symbol.  Still, it does kind of seem like a grab at publicity to come out now, some 10 years after the world have moved on from your style of music and forgotten you, doesn’t it?  Though, really, his sexual preference shouldn’t make a difference as to whether or not you like(d) his music.  Art is art.
