I can’t tell you how many times this has happened to me:  I get in a fight with my old lady over the last vial of crack rock, things get out of hand, and I end up shooting at her 15 times.  Birmingham, Alabama’s Stephen Gafford can feel that pain, because that’s what authorities say he did.  During an altercation with his girlfriend over crack cocaine, he pulled out a .22 pistol and shot at her 15 times.  The miraculous part is her purse stopped 7 of the bullets, the other 8 missed, and she was able to get away from him and get help.

I know a .22 isn’t very powerful, but her purse stopped 7 bullets.  Unless this is some kind of Kevlar-webbing purse from the postapocalyptic survival collection of fashion designer Mark Ecko, that’s pretty amazing.   That woman should consider herself very lucky that she got away in one piece, much less unharmed.  Even a .22 can kill you if it hits you.
