It had to have been inconvenient for Amanda Pogany to lose her car. I mean, she’s a school teacher in Brooklyn, so she probably needed that car to get around the city when she had to go anywhere. In 2006, her 1996 Honda Civic was stolen. She and her husband assumed that the car was gone for good. Three years later, she gets a call from cops to pick up her car at the impound lot. As it turns out, whoever stole her car also pimped out her ride in a big way.
The Honda’s modest engine was replaced with a brand new V-8 for drag racing. They also added a manual transmission, tinted the windows, added special tires and hubcaps, swapped out the cloth interior for leather, and generally turned that mom-mobile into something out of The Fast and the Furious! The guy who bought the hot car was in the middle of having a new transmission put in when cops recovered the vehicle.
As for Amanda, her pimped out car is sitting in her parents’ driveway in New Jersey, waiting for new VIN plates and registration. Oh yeah, Amanda also has to learn how to drive her newly-made stick shift death machine.
