The Old Homestead Restaurant is a New York landmark. During its 142-year history, the upscale dining establishment has been favored by movie stars like Marilyn Monroe, and television stars like Jackie Gleason, James Gandolfini, and Tracy Morgan. Now it’s nearing a historic milestone: 10 million customers served. If you’re that magic customer, then you get a free meal a week for the rest of your life.
Co-owners Marc and Greg Sherry came up with the unique treat for the lucky customer, which is quite a prize given how a steak can run $48 dollars with no side dishes. The restaurant has been open since 1868, and they expect to reach the milestone number sometime within the next two weeks. It took several months for a team of accountants and statisticians to verify the milestone number, but if you’re the lucky winner, you’ve got yourself a table for life.
