When Christina Gamble fell and hurt her back in 2007, she told her doctor that the resulting injuries made it difficult for her to change positions or stand for long periods of time. Of course, none of the mentions anything about taking off her clothes, so while the 43-year-old Ms. Gamble drew $22,000 in worker’s compensation, she was also moonlighting as a stripper in Quakertown, Pennsylvania.
The best part of this story is undoubtedly the name of Ms. Gamble’s employer: C.R. Fanny’s Gentlemen’s Club and Sports Bar. I’d imagine she made as much money off her stripping customers from the brokerage as she did while on the government dole. While stripping does have its occupational hazards, the pay is undoubtedly really good otherwise fewer people would do it.
Maybe she wasn’t actually defrauding the government. Maybe she just gave couch dances, or worked the cane instead of working the pole. I wonder… if she got hurt while stripping, would she be able to draw worker’s comp for that, or are strippers independent contractors free from having to pay into worker’s comp insurance coffers?
