It’s grandfathers gone wild in Salem, Oregon! That’s where police say an 81-year-old man, Manuel Meza, chased another man around a taco stand with a machete during a disagreement. Meza claims that the other man stole his drill, which apparently drove the older man nuts enough to take the law into his own, err, bladed weapon. After a heated exchange, Meza left the taco stand, only to come back armed and dangerous, where he chased the other man (the taco stand’s owner) around the stand several times, despite having his pants belted just under his neck.
That’s just mind-boggling, but… isn’t is also a good sign for America’s seniors that even in their 80’s they’ll be spry enough to attempt to murder other people over a power drill, robbing banks, and whatnot? If 50 is the new 30, then I guess 81 is the new middle-aged and crazy? Meza is in custody at Marion County Jail, being held on charges of attempted assault and menacing.
I have to say, he is pretty menacing. Just look at that face and tell me that’s a guy you want to mess with. He’s like Mexican Charles Bronson!
