Edward Nino Hernandez hasn’t grown since he was two years old, according to his mother Noemi Hernandez. Doctors studied him for awhile, but then lost interest. No one knows why Edward Nino Hernandez is only 27 inches tall, but Guinness doesn’t care about reasons, they just need measurements. The 24-year-old Colombian is officially in the Guinness World Records list as the world’s shortest man, taking over for the deceased He Pingping.
Like all men the size of a carry-on bag, Nino wants to travel more. He also loves to dance, wants to eventually own a Mercedez, and is very much typical of most 24-year-old Colombian men. He’s even got a girlfriend named Fanny, who despite being under 5 feet tall towers over her tiny beau. However, while Nino loves attention, what he doesn’t want is some giant goofball to scoop him up and toss him around. “It bothers me that people are (always) touching me and picking me up,” explains Nino. I can’t say I blame him; I’d hate that too!
Unfortunately, Nino’s reign won’t be long. He’s about to be undercut by Khagendra Thapa Magar, a Mongolian who will take Nino’s crown when he turns 18 on October 14. Still, a little time in the spotlight is better than none at all, right?
