Whenever Michelle Washington gives people her address, people laugh. Not because she talks funny, but because she’s got a funny street name. Ms. Washington, a resident of Macon, Georgia, lives at an address even the writers of Desperate Housewives would consider poor taste: her street name is Lustful Court.
If you’re thinking that Lusty Court sounds like the name of a late-night cable show about sexy judges and dirty-talking juries, Bibb County commissioner Lonzy Edwards agrees. He raised the issue of a name change during a county meeting, and the board agreed to listen to the complaints, assuming homeowners circulate a petition to get the name changed. Until then, they’re just going to be stuck listening to the jokes until finally they get permission to rename their street to something more awesome, like Night Court or Peoples Court.
It’s just a shame that Lustful Court isn’t in Fort Gay, West Virginia, because I think that’d be a comedy pyramid the likes of which hasn’t been built since the Ancient Egyptian stand-up comics first discovered airline food.
