One of my biggest fears is dementia. To be of healthy body, but unsound mind? That’s a nightmare to me. The last thing I’d ever want to be is some senile shell, burdening my family. I could never live like that, but according to new medical research, I might not have to (and, fortunately, dementia doesn’t run in my family; we’re heart disease people). According to research from Oxford University (the world’s top school), Vitamin B supplements help delay the onset of Alzheimer’s Disease, and has even been shown to improve memory functioning in some cases!
“It is our hope that this simple and safe treatment will delay the development of Alzheimer’s in many people who suffer from mild memory problems,” said the study’s co-leader David Smith. Vitamin B is a popular supplement among vegetarians, who don’t eat Vitamin B-rich proteins, and one of the most widely-available over-the-counter vitamins in the world. Those simple off-the-shelf vitamins may be what stands between you and dementia, though experts advise not to take megadoses of Vitamin B due to the fact it stimulates early-stage cancer development.
Still, they can treat cancer; they can’t yet restore brain functioning. Let’s save my brain, if only to install it into that powerful killer cyborg body I’m working on as we speak.
