Some dogs have big ears or big tails. Some dogs are just plain big. Some dogs are just plain fat. Puggy, a 10-year-old Pekingese, is just plain tongue. Puggy is in the Guinness World Records book as the dog with the world’s largest tongue. Pekingese are small dogs, so it’s not hyperbole when experts say Puggy’s 11.43 centimeter (or 4.5 inch) tongue is as large as his entire body!
The unusual dog is actually a rescue dog. Puggy’s original owners left the poor fellow for deadbecause of his unusual appearance, but fortunately Puggy was taken in by new owner Becky Sanford of Texas. “People who meet Puggy for the first time do a lot of double takes; they are in total disbelief and are amused by his unique appearance,” said Ms. Sanford. “‘It means a great deal to us that he has accomplished what he has. From being a stray dog, being dumped, to being a Guinness World Record Holder is just phenomenal. I just can’t believe it.”
That tongue looks simply massive next to that tiny body. It’s like you grafted a cow’s tongue onto a lapdog! I wonder how he can eat or drink with that monster dangling Simmons-like from his mouth.
