What many countries would like to see happen has actually happened in the weirdest country on Earth, Japan. Paris Hilton, one of my least-favorite celebrities on the planet, might be a billionaire hotel heiress, best-selling author, and television and movie star, but she’s also not above the law, both in terms of needing cops to protect her and in being arrested by them. Thanks to her recent felony drug arrest, Paris Hilton has been banned from entering the country of Japan. They’ll let Godzilla in, but not Paris Hilton.
Japan has a rule in place: foreigners on probation are not allowed to enter the country. Hilton is currently facing charges of drug possession and obstruction of an officer in Las Vegas, where she was arrested following felony possession of cocaine (those chargers were plea-bargained away). Hilton flew to Japan on Tuesday, and was allowed to stay overnight while awaiting the result of her appeal to Japanese immigration officials, but left via Narita Airport before that decision was rendered.
Now if only we could somehow ban her from returning to America, that’d be hot.
