In 2007, 15-year-old Jennifer Mee captivated the attention of a nation for approximately 15 minutes. She was the victim of an unusual medical condition that left her with constant hiccups for 5 weeks. Doctors were helpless. Eventually the hiccups went away on their own. Now, the so-called “Hiccup Girl” is back in the news thanks to her part in a robbery/murder in St. Petersburg, Florida. Time to start calling her “Murder Girl” I guess.
Jennifer Mee, now 19, and two others are accused of robbing and murdering 22-year-old Shannon Griffin. Mee lured Griffin into a home, where the two others robbed, then shot the man after he attempted to get away from the criminals. Pinellas County police say Mee’s hiccups have not returned while in jail, where she is being held without bond. She admitted to her role in the attack and is being charged with first-degree murder.
