Demi Lovato, the opening act for the Jonas Brothers on their latest international tour, has left the party. Lovato, 18, shot to fame as part of Disney’s Camp Rock franchise, but between promotion, recording, touring, and all her other appearances, the singer has apparently become exhausted and Lovato is checking herself into rehab for “emotional and physical issues.” Lovato has a history of self-harming behavior, like cutting, and has battled eating disorders for years. Her trip to rehab is not believed to be drug-related.
“Demi Lovato left her tour early this weekend in order to seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time,” said a press release from the teen pop starlet’s publicist. “Demi has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help. She is doing just that. She regrets not being able to finish her tour, but is looking forward to getting back to work in the near future.”
She was due to end her tour on November 13, but left the tour early to check herself in and get a little help. Here’s hoping her previous mental health issues aren’t flaring up again, as those problems can be really tough to deal with. I don’t know anything about her and have never listened to her music, but you never want to see anyone suffering with mental illness.
