It’s strange, but one of humanity’s greatest inventions is our modern system of waste disposal. Before the toilet and the sewage system were conceived, you just squatted over a hole in the ground or punched in the side of a castle that emptied out in to a cistern. Well, these days, most of us have the luxury of celebrating World Toilet Day by having an actual toilet to use, but for 2.5 billion people in the world, the option isn’t there.
That’s why Domestos has created the Flush Tracker, which traces the route through which your most recent toilet flush travels using Google Maps. The only problem with Flush Tracker is that it doesn’t work in the United States, but you can track the path of the most recent flush at the White House, which in and of itself is fascinating, and you’re more than welcome to track the BMs of the PM at #10 Downing Street.
It’s amazing just how quickly the indoor toilet took off, isn’t it? It’s only been within the last 100 years that everyone’s had access to a potty of some kind, not to mention comfortable toilet paper and the luxury of flushing water to rinse away the nastiness.
