When Englishman Nigel Page won a $90 million dollar jackpot from the Euromillions lottery, he knew he was set for life.  However, his celebration with current partner Justine Laycock has been dampened a bit by, guess who?  Page’s ex-wife.  Ten years ago, Page’s ex-wife Wendy cheated on him with a co-worker and then left him, taking the couple’s then 3-year-old daughter Ella with her.  Now, she’s back in Page’s life and has sued for a share of his lottery winnings.  Page was forced to give his ex-wife $3 million dollars despite having been divorced for 10 years.

“Nigel feels very hurt,” said a close family friend.  “The last seven months have been horrendous for him.  “Up to this point everyone got on pretty well.  But what Wendy has done has ruined everything.  Nigel has always provided for their daughter.  Even when he was out of work he made sure she was all right.  And right from the start Wendy was going to get a big gift.”

Not only did Wendy seek $12 million of Nigel’s winnings, she also won a massive uptick in child support, to $3200 a month.  So, long story short, she’s soaking him twice over for money she’s got no right to since she’s the one who broke up their marriage with her cheating ways.  Worse for Page, his effort to put the money in a trust for his daughter (you know, the one who deserves it) was rebuffed by the courts.  The key was a lack of a “clean break” agreement in the divorce settlement, so divorcing couples take note and protect yourselves.

Some exes just ruin everything.
