In France, there are two dominant fast food chains. There’s McDonalds, which is everywhere but Iceland, and there’s Quick. Quick is like the French version of McDonald’s, and as such, their menu is a bit more adapted to French tastes. To honor France, and as a special treat for French people this holiday season, Quick is offering a hamburger topped with chunks of foie gras.
Dubbed the Supreme Foie Gras Burger, it’s a limited-time treat for the French, and it may be the cheapest foie gras you could find. The burger retails for only 5 euros, or 7.50 euros with fries and a drink. That means you get a value meal featuring a burger topped with foie gras for under $10! The idea of a burger with foie gras is a bit incongruous, but I’d try it, just like I’d try a gourmet luxury hot dog with truffles. Leave it to the French to prove that burger size does not matter.
If you’d like to try it, it’ll be available at Quick’s 360 locations throughout France. You have to act fast, as the burger will be available only between December 17 and December 19. Foie gras is a traditional Christmas treat for the French.
