That concept of showing a classic with a star attached to the film making an appearance is being offered by Turner Classic Movies.
For the second consecutive year, the network is sending out its Road to Hollywood tour with stops slated for 10 cities across the nation. The tour will escalate the anticipation leading up to the network’s festival of classic flicks April 28 through May 1 in Hollywood.
In each city, one classic movie will be shown for free with a star from the film making an appearance. How amazing would it be to watch The Birds while Tippi Hedren was in the audience? That’s what the folks in St. Louis can experience when the tour stops in the city by the Arch on April 4.
It’s a pretty amazing opportunity, starting tonight (March 3) in Seattle. Eva Marie Saint is the star scheduled to be in attendance for an airing of North By Northwest at 7:30 p.m. (PT) at SIFF Cinem.
TCM host Robert Osborne and weekend daytime host Ben Mankiewicz will appear in five cities each to introduce the screenings.
Tickets to the screenings can be purchased at the TCM website.
