The restaurant was launched only four months ago to great fanfare, but Flavor Flav’s fried chicken restaurant, dubbed FFC for Flav’s Fried Chicken, has already gone under. After some harsh words and a few brutal disputes, Flav has pulled the license to use his likeness from business partner Nick Cimino, meaning Flav’s Fried Chicken in Clinton, Iowa, has closed only months after it opened.
Flav said that Cimino “isn’t running the business right” and that is why he pulled his likeness and name from the restaurant, according to an interview Flav did with WQAD-TV. According to some former employees, employees at Cimino’s FFC weren’t getting paid, which only adds insult to injury in the case of the disputes between Cimino and Flav. This leaves Jay-Z’s Brooklyn chicken shack as the supreme hip-hop chicken shop.
You hate to see a restaurant close so soon, but if employees aren’t being paid and allegations are true, then it should be shut down. Flav made the right decision here, and good for him for making the call.
