Happy Fourth everyone!
It’s a time to celebrate the birth of our nation. Nothing says Happy Fourth like fireworks and attending a baseball game whether it’s at the major or minor league level. Fireworks are an even bigger draw for fans than bringing together baseball and Star Wars
Fireworks combined with of love of athletic competitions goes way back to 1909 when the Pittsburgh Pirates lit up the first post-game aerial show. Since then, fireworks have dispersed gnats , awakened homeowners at 4 a.m, helped kick off the Olympics , moved indoors and forced fans outdoors due to the smoke and introduced Da Bulls. ESPN’s Page 2 has the full rundown of sports and fireworks.
So on the Fourth of July, whether or not you hear anyone yell “Play ball,” when the night sky is filled with color and your ears are ringing from the BOOMS and the BANGS, remember to say “Happy Birthday” to the US of A.
