This isn't Gus, but it is a fellow bulldog.

Oh, it’s the dog days of summer.

The country has been dealing with droughts in Texas and heat domes hovering over the Northeast, creating weather hysteria over the weekend with multiple attempts to fry eggs on the sidewalk. The meteorologists may not have freaked out at snowpocalypse levels, but the weird weather phenemenon was still a “hot” topic.

Yep, it’s hot. Hey look at the calendar. It’s called July above the equator.

But you do know it’s bad when even the dogs are ready to say screw it to the outdoors and Mother Nature’s heat wave.

The bulldog Gus in the video above has had enough of the heat. His generous owners bought the hassling canine a kiddie pool to help him cool off. Gus appreciated their gesture but decided he’d like to enjoy his new toy inside the house and immediately began the work it took to drag the little wading pool into the great indoors.

I call it dogged determination. Go ahead, groan all you want, but that’s one cute bulldog.

However, it still may not be as cute as a giggling penguin chick.
