Stephen Colbert’s Prank Super PAC Becomes Possible Prank Presidency

Posted 1/13/2012 6:30 am by

The pranking instincts of Stephen Colbert are strong.  Some months back, Colbert formed his own political action committee, dubbed the Colbert Super PAC.  He did this simply because he could, and as it turns out, Colbert’s fans are pretty generous.  However, the Colbert Super PAC will be forced to change its name.  Stephen Colbert has announced he is forming an exploratory committee to possibly run for president in South Carolina.  Control of the Colbert Super PAC is now in the hands of Colbert’s Washington rally ally, Jon Stewart.

Quoth Colbert:  “I am proud to announce that I am forming an exploratory committee to lay the groundwork for my possible candidacy for the president of the United States of South Carolina!”

So what does this all mean?  Well, since it’s all a joke, it’s probably meaningless.  That said, Colbert is polling higher in South Carolina than John Huntsman, and he does have a PAC throwing the weight of its donations behind him.  I doubt Colbert could break double-digits in South Carolina, but his candidacy might end up being fun should he actually enter the race and take that next step.  If only for comedy purposes, he could get some mileage out of it.

Pole Vaulter Stops Mid-Run For National Anthem

Posted 8/22/2016 7:29 pm by

It’s not a rare thing to hear the United States national anthem during the Olympics; you hear it at every sporting event ever, it seems.  At the 2016 Rio Games, the US won 46 gold medals, so the Star Spangled Banner was played 46 times.  Not too shabby, right?  However, the anthem is a song […]

The Nightly Show Is Keeping It 0

Posted 8/19/2016 6:06 pm by

Well, that didn’t last long.  In 2014, The Colbert Report went off the air so its star could go replace David Letterman on CBS.  They promoted from within, as they are wont to do, by bringing Larry Wilmore to the big stage.  Larry promptly fell flat on his face.  Low ratings and poor social media […]

The Most Unhealthy Chain Restaurant Meal

Posted 8/01/2016 5:41 pm by

America is a country of excess.  We like big cars, big roads, and big food to go in our big bellies.  After all, this is a country of fried cheese sandwiches washed out with 10 shots of espresso, so it’s not surprising that America’s fast casual chains are all tempted to pile on the calories […]

Longtime Friends Fired From Sesame Street

Posted 7/28/2016 8:17 pm by

Honestly, I don’t think I watched a lot of Sesame Street when I was a child.  I remember some vague things, like Kermit wearing an overcoat and a hat with a press card, but other than that, I think I missed out on the Sesame Street train.  Sadly, that means I missed out on a […]
