When it comes to fictional secret agents, there’s nobody quite like James Bond. However, there was a secret agent who managed to force the Bond folks to revitalize their franchise with a new style of action and a hot new leading man, and that was the Bourne franchise. While Daniel Craig’s got a new James Bond movie on the horizon, the Bourne folks are moving into a world without Matt Damon as the anchors for their movies. The Bourne Legacy, starring Jeremy Renner as Aaron Cross, has a new trailer for you to feast your eyes on. MTV has an analysis of The Bourne Legacy‘s trailer, which you’ll see just below you.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVPpc4pk6REHowever, some threads to Jason Bourne remain, even if The Bourne Legacy isn’t a Jason Bourne movie. For example, Albert Finney and Joan Allen both reprise their roles from the main Bourne trilogy starring Matt Damon. A new face added to this cast is Edward Norton (and of course Jeremy Renner, but you knew that). Renner’s Cross is seen to be an improvement on Bourne 1.0, but will Renner’s movie be an improvement on the Bourne series, or just what is essentially a reboot? Will Cross and Bourne square off in a fifth movie?
