Last February’s epic Powerball jackpot… you could be a winner, too!

When it comes to lotteries, the Mega Millions seems to get all the attention for its… uh, mega millions.  Mega Millions has been racking up high jackpots lately, with impressive $335 million and an incredible $656 million jackpot in March.  It goes without saying that Mega Millions is great, but you can’t sleep on the Powerball.  Powerball is a fixture in 42 states and the District of Columbia, and it can have some pretty high jackpots, too.  The next Powerball drawing will be worth $320 million, the fourth-highest drawing in that lottery’s history.

The last Powerball win was $60 million on June 23.  Since then, nobody’s won the top prize, though last Saturday’s drawing netted five million-dollar winners (they matched the five numbers, but not the Powerball).  The numbers were drawn last night and are as follows: 6-27-46-51-56 and a Powerball of 21.  The odds of winning the Powerball are 1 in 175 million, but if you win the prize and take the straight cash payout, you’ll be bringing home a cool $213.3 million dollars for the cost of a $2 ticket.

EDIT:  The winning ticket was sold in a gas station in Lapeer, Michigan.
