Since Twitter jumped into the public consciousness, the world’s most-popular microblogging service has kind of morphed into something far beyond the original intention. The social hub is now the way most people get their breaking news, tweets are used to track infectious diseases, and Twitter celebrities are actually a thing that exists for those who are sufficiently funny or interesting in 140 characters. Now, Twitter seems determined to grow their service in an organic way by expanding to what people want to see on Twitter by taking control of your ears. Twitter is launching a music recommendation app that will pick music based on your likes.
The address for the music.twitter.com and while if you go there now, there won’t be anything, apparently there was something going on yesterday because people were tweeting about it. Nothing is there now, but the music app We Are Hunted was purchased in 2012 by Twitter on the quiet and was shut down this week. The rumor is Twitter Music will be launching today, but we shall see.
