There’s weirdness in the air. A sense of danger, perhaps. Foreboding thoughts and visions flutter through the airs like the ghosts of nightmares long since dissipated. In the shadows lurk mysterious figures wearing masks and obscured by hoods. This is no ordinary Friday, this is a particularly special Friday. Today is Friday the 13th, but it’s so much more than your average Friday the 13th, as if that could be considered normal and safe. Today is Friday the 13th and tonight is a full moon, so be prepared for double craziness.
Of course, not all Friday the 13th events are bad. Sometimes good things happen on Friday the 13th, but it seems like the day is more bad than good. Rather than going out and joining friends and foes alike in The Purge-like warfare in the streets, tonight might be a good night to go up into the attic and play with that Ouija board, or perhaps go down into the cellar and read from the Necronomicon by candle-light. You know, safe indoor activities, than going out to the cemetery to conduct your forbidden rituals.
If you make it through the day unscathed, don’t worry about repeating it any time soon. This will be the last Friday the 13th full moon until 2049, so you’ll get some breathing room.
