It’s been a really good few sports year for the San Francisco Bay area. The Giants won the World Series in 2014, and the Golden State Warriors won the NBA title later that same year. While the Giants have been kind of a let-down lately, not advancing in the MLB playoffs, the Warriors have continued to keep on winning. The Golden State Warriors have broken an NBA record by starting 16-0.
The team won their first 16 games in a row, and it seems like there’s no end in sight for the team, as they play some very horrible teams and have some very winnable games in front of them. There’s no risk of them going 82-0, but at the same time they could easily make a run at the NBA’s record winning streak of 33 games. One of the most amazing things about the start is that the team keeps winning without their head coach. Steve Kerr isn’t there to guide the teams. Kerr is recovering from spinal surgery; filling in for him is a guy who was on the LA Lakers last season, Luke Walton.
Then again, when you have reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry on the team, it’s pretty easy to overcome lack of coaching prowess with some spectacular on-court play.
