This year’s political circus is one of the nastiest I can remember in recent memory. For all the flack Obama took in both his terms, it wasn’t nearly as bad as what the current nominees are going through. Whether you support Hillary Clinton, are down with Donald Trump, feel the Bern with Bernie Sanders, or put your support behind recent race quitter Ted Cruz, I think we can all agree that his has been a mess, and the nasty stuff on our political screens is bleeding over into real life. A Donald Trump supporter refused to give a Bernie Sanders supporter a tow with his tow truck.
The person in need of the tow was Cassy McWade, 25, whose car was involved in an accident outside of Ashville, North Carolina. When the tow truck arrived, the tow truck driver took one look at the bumper stickers on the car and decided that he’d get his money elsewhere. Now I’ve never seen anyone refuse a tow, but the tow truck driver has a pretty good excuse for just why he refused to take the money, or more likely, the headache.
“I’ve had some horrible experiences in the last six months with towing cars for this mindset [of] individuals, in that I don’t get paid,” said Shupee Max Used Cars & Towing owner Ken Shupe. “They want to argue about a $50 tow bill, and it turns into just a drama and a fuss. And I said, you know, I’m not going to associate with them, and I’m not going to do any business with them.”
