So you’re watching television or listening to some music, and you want to let everyone know that you’re checking out something awesome. Well, instead of having to actually type words or anything, Facebook is going to take actual work out of it and do the listening for you. Facebook’s newest app will listen to your music or television and share it with your friends. All it takes is a punch or two of some buttons, and boom, everyone’s going to know just what you’re listening to.
“If you share music, your friends can see a 30-second preview of the song. For TV shows, the story in News Feed will highlight the specific season and episode you’re watching, so you can avoid any spoilers and join in conversations with your friends after you’ve caught up,” says a Facebook statement.
Of course, the app is voluntary and supposedly only activates when you’re doing a status update. So you won’t have to worry about accidentally sharing with people that you’re listening to Coldplay or whatever. It’s another step in the never-ending music war.
