When Rick Gorski’s neighbors were moving from their home in Newport Beach, California, they had a yard sale. There’s no better way to get rid of your old junk than to simply sell it off to your closest friends and neighbors! Well, among the things sold was a $5 shirt which Gorski bought. As it turns out, that $5 shirt was worn by one Francis Albert Sinatra, and the $5 shirt may be worth thousands at auction.
Gorski, however, is dismayed by the shirt’s potential value, which may be as little as $600 despite having been verified by the records of Sinatra clothiers Anto Distinctive Shirtmakers of Beverly Hills, which has records dating back to 1955 and vouched for the authenticity of the white tuxedo shirt. “How can a shirt Frank Sinatra owned, one of the rarest he ever had made, be the same price as an autographed photo? It doesn’t make sense,” groused Gorski. “If no one buys the shirt, I have so much respect for their dad, I’d give it to them.”
How could someone not buy a Sinatra tux shirt? That’s like not wanting to buy a Dean Martin flask or a glass eye worn by Sammy Davis, Jr.! If Michael Jackson’s glove can sell for $190,000, surely someone can pony up a few thou for The Chairman’s shirt.
