I’m not quite sure how Gilligan would have peddled this bicycle on all the sand of his island, but I’m sure these are two designs even the Professor would have been proud of.

It may not be as eye catching as a giant guitar shaped bicycle, but the bamboo bike is a whole lot greener and more functional.

Crafted by Brano Meres, the bike is made of bamboo rods and carbon composite joints. According to Meres, the bamboo frame absorbs road shocks better than carbon frames. It’s also strong enough to have survived a marathon.

Now what else should you wear when you ride a bamboo bike but a crash helmet made of bamboo.

The Roof RO6 helmet is made of slivers of the strong natural material and meets European safety measures for road use.
