The one thing about a good ad is, in these times, it’s about not only paying for promoting what you are trying to sell, but getting Internet buzz.
An ad for an insurance company in Amsterdam has gone viral. On the back of a bus, the illusion of that the bus is backing up is turning heads in Europe and the United States.
Viral marketing is the key word right now. Not only do advertisers go for what they are going to have to purchase in traditional mediums, but also the free Internet word-of-mouth that can meet more of those “eyeballs” that are crucial to getting the product out there. When television deals are given to viral video legends such as Chris Crocker after his infamous “Leave Britney Alone” video which reached millions on YouTube, marketing companies are finally noticing that the Internet buzz can give their product wings if done well.
It also doesn’t hurt to have a sense of humor.
