Ladies, if you’re anything like me, when watching superhero movies or television shows it is sometimes difficult to remember when the chicks are evil and when they’re on the side of good. How could anyone with such great fashion sense be bad?
Finally, a brilliant group of people has taken the initiative to put together an exhibit that celebrates the beautiful fashion of superhero (and, in this case, supervillian) costumes.
The Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art will be hosting a spring exhibit called “Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy.” According to Trend Hunter magazine, the show, hosted by Giorgio Armani, will open Wednesday May 7th.
Of course, Vogue immediately saw a way to get in on the action. The upcoming May issue of the magazine features a spread of select costumes for female superheroes and supervillians including Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Dawnstar from the Legion of Superheroes, but you can scroll down now to see some of the photos below.
The Met exhibit closes September 1st, so be sure to pick up this issue of Vogue if you can’t make a trip before then.
