The iconic ball that drops to celebreate every new year in New York City’s Times Square is getting another new look. It received an update last year, but this year the New Year’s Eve ball is getting made over yet again. Right now, workers are busy installing another 300 pieces of custom-made Waterford Crystal onto the big ball, each featuring a new interlocking Celtic knot design. I imagine it will look awesome.
Lots of places drop lots of random things, but for me that New York ball drop is the best one. Always has been, and probably always will be. I’d never want to go there, since once you’re in the pen you’re stuck there and you can’t get out to use the bathroom or get something to eat, but it looks very impressive on TV. Here’s hoping the new year brings lots of good tidings and fulfilled wishes.
