It’s a beautiful scene, isn’t it? That’s the Singapore River, in Singapore, where every year thousands of people gather to write their wishes for the new year on those glowing spheres. Those spheres are then released into the river, where they presumably float away and the wisher’s wishes are hopefully granted. This year, over 10,000 spheres were released, and every year the event grows. I can see why, because the spectacle is beautiful to behold at night.
I love how these events look. Any time you get to release a bunch of stuff into the river, whether for a charity, like Britain’s rubber ducks, or just to hope for better times ahead, it always ends up looking very cool. I’d love to see this event, and even write my wishes for the new year on a glowing white ball and hope against hope for success.
