The things that can happen to a human being in the womb are just astounding.  There have been all sorts of medical miracles and odd bodies on display at PopFi, but rarely have I seen such a complete gallery of incredible human images in one place.  Just check out Web Urbanist’s incredible humans for more information on a wide variety of strange people with stranger conditions.  Some of the images are pretty disturbing, in all honesty, but most of them are just kind of sad.

It makes me wonder something, though.  Do you think any of these people are upset that they’re no longer able to perform in freak shows and carnivals like their predecessors with these very same medical conditions?  Those old-style freaks in the carnival days used to make really good money for the time period.

I imagine David Lynch movies are great work and much more respectable than dwarf races, but it’s not exactly as nice as being treated like a gift from God. I guess, in a way, they still have opportunities to exploit their disabilities through documentaries like that of the Tree Man and Shell Man, or the city of little people in China.  There are several very tall and very short actors who have gotten steady work thanks to character parts; but that’s definitely not the same as being paid to just hang out and do nothing all day.
