It was the music industry’s night to reward itself. The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences held the 2010 Grammy Awards last night, and while Lady Gaga stole the spotlight with her crazy outfits, the bulk of the awards went to Beyonce Knowles, who brought home a record-setting six Grammys last night, besting her own record-tying five from 2004. However, one award Beyonce was up for that escaped her grasp was that of Best Album; that was all Taylor Swift. You can read the full Grammy results here.
Incredibly, there seems to have been very little controversy on the night. Kanye West stayed home, so we didn’t get a repeat performance of his interruption of Taylor Swift from the MTV Video Music Awards; unfortunately, that means she didn’t get to interrupt his speech accepting Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, either. Maybe next year, she’ll get to say, “Yo Kanye, I’mma let you finish, but ‘I’m On A Boat’ was the best rap/sung collaboration of all time!”
