Despite the fact that 3D images hurt your brain, Samsung and Panasonic have been tussling over who will be the first to announce 3D TVs for sale. After all, 3D is incredibly popular at the movie theater, so it has to be the next big thing for the home theater, right? A day before Panasonic’s big 3D TV event at a Best Buy in Union Square, Samsung announced their 9000 series of 3D televisions and Blu-ray players, which will hit stores in April. Meanwhile, Panasonic’s first 3D home theater system goes on sale today.
If you don’t have any 3D movies quiet yet, there’s no need to worry. One of the biggest features of the Samsung 3D TVs is the ability to upconvert your images from 2D to 3D at the touch of a button! Samsung will also be giving away a 3D starter kit with the purchase of their new TVs, featuring two pairs of Samsung 3D Active Glasses and a 3D copy of Monsters Vs. Aliens, which is to be the first 3D Blu-ray disc.
