Patty Clement’s 11-year-old daughter had a problem with one of her teachers. It appears that Rex Roland, an educator at Enka Middle School in Buncombe County in Asheville, North Carolina, had issues with her daughter. That’s the best explanation as to why he wrote that she was a loser on her paper not once, but multiple times. Mr. Roland was finally suspended, but has since apologized, saying he was simply trying to relate to the students on their level.
School officials say he must undergo “training in professional and ethical classroom behavior” before he returns to the classroom. If he really wanted to relate to the kids, he left out a few profanities that’d be needed to speak like your average middle school kid. The average middle school is like Nepal’s cursing festival, but worse.
Take it away, Beck.
